joey minshall photographJoey Minshall is a vocal arranger and song writer, voice and performance coach, musical director and certified music therapist.

Her fun-to-sing a cappella vocal arrangements are known for their creativity, and have been performed and recorded by groups in Canada, the US, Sweden, Germany, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Dubai, Saudi Arabia.

"I was very fortunate to grow up in a family that valued singing, and that sang together - ordinary, everyday singing: doing the dishes, riding in the car, making up songs and creating harmonies. I have come to believe through my life and my work, that one of the most powerful things that we human beings can do - to move towards each other, to connect with each other, to create community, to build strong relationships – is sing with each other.

It’s very clear to me that any time human beings are singing with each other, we are living the answer to the question "How do we make the world a better place?"

Joey has been part of the barbershop community and affiliated with Sweet Adelines International since 1974 as a successful quartet singer, chorus director, coach and arranger. She is currently is part of a unique 4-woman directing team for Westcoast Harmony Chorus in Surrey, BC.

She is co-creator, with friend Mo Field (Stockholm, Sweden) of theharmonyrainbow, a yahoo discussion group for glbt’s in the barbershop community worldwide. Joey also directed the first Young Women In Harmony (YWIH) chorus on the Vancouver lower mainland, “Somethin’ Casual”, which introduced many young women to the fun of singing barbershop.
